Academician Huang Wei and Professor Zhao Qiang’s research team of NJUPT published latest research achievement on German Applied Chemistry

Recently, the research team led by Academician Huang Wei and Professor Zhao Qiang,which belongs to the Institute of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology Technology (IAM) of NJUPT, The Organic Electronics and Information Display, The State Key Laboratory Breeding Baseand has made significant progress in the field of organic photosensitizer application to photodynamic tumor therapy. They studied for the first time the organic photosensitizers’photodynamic therapy effect of different organelles under hypoxic conditions.The results showed that the tumor cells incubated with mitochondria-targeted photosensitizers showed a better effect of photodynamic therapy under hypoxic conditions . Related work is published in the international authoritative academic journal Angewandte Chemie-international Edition (German applied Chemistry).
